Dear R.E. Teacher / Chaplain,

I have had a number of requests from teachers looking for recommendations of guest speakers who can give talks/presentations to senior cycle R.E. classes and I would be grateful if you get a chance you might forward me on any contacts you may have. There is an old list of guest speakers on our website and I would like to have a more up-to-date list for the coming year: List of Guest Speakers & Charity Links

In my visits to schools last year I mentioned the Whycare.ie website run by the Jesuit Centre for Faith & Justice and below is a letter from them seeking feedback about the website from teachers who have used it in their teaching. If you have used Whycare you might take a few minutes to complete their online survey.

Dear teacher,
Thank you for your interest in WhyCare.ie, our online education resource which aims to present issues relating to social justice, homelessness, poverty and crime in a way that is accessible to students and young people. At the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice, we feel strongly about the need to create awareness among young people about the injustices in the world we live in.
With the new school year beginning, we are hoping to develop further this online resource and distribute it to a wider audience. Continued feedback and advice of teachers is essential in ensuring WhyCare.ie remains engaging and relevant for young people. http://whycare.ie
Please take the time to follow the link below and complete the quick questionnaire on WhyCare.ie which will take about five minutes to complete. Responses to this survey are anonymous. Please complete the survey by Friday, September 14th. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8NSBQ8Q
We are also looking for teachers who are interested in helping us improve the Teachers Area of the website on a voluntary basis. We are asking teachers to access the website and develop a lesson plan/activity/game/project/quizzes/debates that would complement the issues dealt with. This will then be put in an Activity ‘bank’ in the Teachers Area of the website. Teachers who contribute will have their work credited on the website. The JCFJ will also provide confirmation that the teacher voluntarily contributed to this programme.
Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you think would be interested in contributing to the website.
If you would like to get involved, contact intern@jcfj.ie for more information.
Best wishes and thank you for completing the survey, http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8NSBQ8Q
