Dear R.E. Teacher / Chaplain,

This week I have added lots of new resources to our website and there are also over 250 videos to watch or download on our YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/DublinDioceseEd.

Click on the links below to view the resources/websites.

November 18th: World Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims: A short prayer service to remember the 23,224 people who have been killed on Irish roads since official records of road deaths in this country began in 1959.

November 21st: The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary : Presentation Sisters and Friends of Nano, all over the world, celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of Mary in the Temple on the 21st November each year. After Nano Nagle’s death the congregation was renamed and those closest to Nano chose the title of ‘The Congregation of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary’ because they knew that she had a great devotion to the ancient feast of the Presentation of Mary in the Temple. Click on the link above to view a Nano Nagle slide show reflection I made and a brief biograpgy of Nano Nagle.

General Resources: In the General Resources section of our website I have uploaded new resources including PowerPoint Introductions to World Religions (Judaism & Islam) & Spirituality. Let me know if you have any other good links or resources and I’ll add them to the site.

Year of Faith: Click on the link to view the November update about the Year of Faith from Veritas.

Daily email on the Catechism: For this Year of Faith, Pope Benedict has encouraged you to study and reflect on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Well, here’s an easy and free way to do it. Simply sign up at http://www.flocknote.com/catechism and you’ll start getting a little bit of the Catechism emailed to you every morning. Read that little bit every day and you’ll read the whole catechism in a year.

November 17th-23rd is Powering Kindness Week where ‘your good deed makes good money for charity.’ For further details click: www.poweringkindness.ie/home.

United Nations Observances Calendar: A calendar of 121 Annual observances endorsed by the United Nations, such as World AIDS day, World Food Day and World Population Day. Important political, social, cultural, humanitarian or human rights issues.

Video Resources for Philosophy & Religion Students: A great site for senior students interested in philosophy.

Kind regards,

Gary
