March 22, 2017

Dear R.E. Teacher / Chaplain,

Throughout the Lenten journey, opportunities to introduce students to moments for prayer are powerful.
Mother's Day
Just added to the March Resource Page, Frank Brown (PPW for the Clondalkin Parishes) has kindly shared these Mother's Day resources; including prayer cards etc
This PowerPoint introduces the origins of Mother's Day. May we remember to pray for mothers everywhere.
40Acts - Pray
Offering ideas as to how we can incorporate prayer into daily activities, this reflection from 40Acts is simple and yet deeply meaningful: Act 18 - Pray
SPCK Daily Reflections for Lent
SPCK's Lenten Reflections offer great depths to explore during prayer:
The Religion Teacher - School-wide Prayer: Making an Impact
Jared Dees suggests to how we can make moments of communal prayer memorable and worthwhile for our students: School-wide Prayer: Making an Impact
Pope Francis
Pope Francis shares his Prayer Intention for March in this brief video: Pray for Persecuted Christians. Further explanation can be found in this Radio Vaticana article
Peter's Passion
With the experience of Emmanuel 2017 in our recent memories, God-music is a really beautiful way to pray. The students of Skerries Community College will celebrate Peter's Passion on April 2; a great event and all welcome. Full details here.
Sacred Space - Daily Prayer App
The online version of Sacred Space is a great source of inspiration for daily prayer; and it's available for free download in iPhone App and Anroid App format too.
Food for Thought - Trócaire
There are so many possibilities from among the Trócaire 2017 Lent Campaign to take into prayer with students, but here is another suggestion from their Education resource bank: Hunger: The Real Reasons
Finally, attached please find a slideshow - Taking My Place - that could be used during prayer, kindly shared by Fr. Declan O'Loughlin (Armagh Diocesan Adviser).
Kind regards,
